Volo Auto Museum to Get Cable TV Spotlight

John Gunnell Posted on 2017-07-03

During a recent visit to the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois, THE SHOP discovered that the 56-year-old collector car business is set to be the focal point of a new reality TV show on The History Channel. Volo: House of Cars will be the name of the show that executive producer Julian Taylor came up with after meeting the Grams family—owners of Volo—when they appeared in an episode of his show South Beach Classics. In that episode, Brian Grams helped Ted Vernon find a low-mileage, red anniversary edition Lamborghini Countach. O the Places We Go

Cheryl Posted on 2017-04-29

It’s been ages since we’ve been to the Volo Auto Museum with my three kids. I’ve heard they have had tons of changes so it was about time we stop by again. Highlights: Release pent up energy. The minute they saw the playground in front of the museum, they couldn’t help but run to it. Besides the playground they have a wood vehicle structure with slide, a buggy, fire truck, and a few cars. Take the time out to view the grounds. There’s tons of stuff outside too! We loved posing with Po from Kung Fu Panda, this cool VW van, jets, ...

Volo Auto Museum's stories to be told on History Channel

Angelica LaVito / Chicago Tribune Posted on 2017-01-04

After 56 years in business, the Volo Auto Museum will embark on a new project in 2017 — starring in a television show. William Grams purchased the property for $21,000 in 1960 and opened a junk and antique resale shop. His sons, Greg and Bill Grams, worked on old cars whenever they could. They scraped together $300 to purchase a run-down Chrysler Roadster convertible. They restored it and sold it for $25,000. They used that money to purchase, restore and sell a 1929 Packard. And, so, the Volo Auto Museum began. Today, the museum ...
