Chevrolet Superior Line arrived to market with great success in 1922. Simplicity of the new chassis allowed for a great deal of flexibility in body styles. Many unit sales were attributed to rural farmers purchasing the bare bones rolling chassis. These resourceful buyers would build their own wooden bodies on the sturdy Chevy chassis. A conventional 3-speed transmission provided more motive torque and power capability than the Ford Model T planetary transmission, which was rapidly becoming outdated despite the Model T's overwhelming popularity. Chevrolet management took note and designed a Coupe that provided maximum utility inside a good looking package. The Chevrolet Utility Coupe was born.

The Utility Coupe was promoted as the second car for busy gentlemen, farmers, errand-running ladies, doctors, and traviling salesmen. It was the two-passenger go-to car that was Chevrolet's Swiss Army Knife of cars. The Fisher built body was the least expensive of it's coachbuilt brethren and featured plush whipcord upholstery and 14 cubic feet of enclosed cargo space in the stylish rear turtle deck trunk.

Our Chevrolet Utility arrives with a fresh coat of black paint with a deep finish. Spoke wheels are beautiful wood preserved with thick varnish. Engine compartment is clean and appears carefully maintained. Interior instrument gauges have clear glass with a pleasing patina on the dashboard. Interior upholstery is being refreshed with professional care. Fisher steel body and fenders are straight back to front, top to bottom. This is an exceptional alternative to the many Ford Model T's. Best of all it wears the timeless Chevrolet Bow Tie. Perfect for the Antique collector or the die-hard Chevy enthusiast that wants to throw down the gauntlet early.  Youtube video available upon request.  Call our classic car division at 815-385-8408 for video and/or vehicle information.
